eGroup December 2013 Forum – The Monkey and Me Story with Kate Jenkins

Updated: Feb 26, 2019

How do you launch a business with limited start-up funds? How do you generate sales for an online business with no marketing budget?

Join us at the December eGroup forum with special guest Kate Jenkins to find out how she did.

Date: Tuesday 3rd December 2013 Time: 5:30pm to 8:30pm Address: Wrays, 56 Ord Street, West Perth (plenty of street parking available). Cost: eGroup Members – FREE / Non eGroup Members – $25

Starting a business is hard if you have a budget of $5,000, or even a budget of $50,000, but what do you do if you only have $500? This is a story of putting accumulated academic knowledge and professional experience through a filter which removes all of the ideas that cost money.

Kate will explain how she used a $300 website and Facebook to generate 100% of her sales when the business launched. Then Kate will show how she grew the business, discovering along the way that done is better than perfect. Kate will also highlight her important learnings.

Kate started Monkey and Me over 3 years ago. She worked full time while setting up the business so needed to be efficient and cost effective. It also has to be a lot of fun if you’re up past midnight most nights!

The Monkey and Me business has now amassed more than 16,000 Facebook likers and is helping to “save socks from smelly feet and turn them into cute, cheeky and unique handmade sock monkeys” for kids all over Australia.

Kate has an MBA from UWA and is currently on maternity leave from her management consulting job at The Boston Consulting Group.
